Is it possible to hire a jeep and drive to the Grand Canyon for a day trip from Las Vegas?
If so, can anyone give me details... ie : drive time ; route ; car hire companies???

GRand Canyon from Vegas.. possible ??You will find few, if any will recommend a day trip to the GC. It is a five hour drive each way. You need to spend the night in or near the park to appreciate all the GC has to offer.
Best, really only, route is thru Hoover Dam to Kingman, AZ on Hwy 93. At Kingman take I40 east to Williams, AZ. Hwy. 64 north to the park enterance.
Take your pick of many rentals available at LAS.
GRand Canyon from Vegas.. possible ??What a lot of people fail to realize is that the Grand Canyon is one of the world%26#39;s grand natural wonders and a destination in its own right. It%26#39;s not just another thing to be checked off of a list of things to do see whilst in Vegas like the Bellagio fountains or Fremont Street Experience.
As previous poster said, drive to South Rim and stay overnight in order to experience and appreciate GC in all its glory.
