Allegiant Rates today through March 18

Starting today, Allegiant Air is offering buy one air/hotel, get an airfare free. Sale ends March 18.

Like other deals, you%26#39;ll need to try out various combinations to see if this is best for you. Sometimes the flight only with a separate hotel offer might be a better deal.

We%26#39;ve used this deal in the past and it worked out well for us. Last September we only booked the hotel for part of the trip (min. 2 night/2 person required), and then used comped rooms for the rest of the trip and had no problem.

Sorry if this is a duplicate post. I did a search and didn%26#39;t see it listed.

We got the ad in the morning paper about this and an email.

Seems like after the Fly free promo is over the fares fall... so this is just a gimmick?

Guess I will see what happens this time.

Fares out of Des Moines for our dates in July are stuck at $129... too high, I think.

Other opinions?

How do I book just 2 nights? Every time I do it, it includes all 5 nights.

I am also wondering if the fares will fall after the deal is over.

Maria, I think $129 is a little high too considering you still need to add on luggage, seat selection (if desired), etc. Especially when they%26#39;ve had $89 or $99 from Central Illinois.

Poole - When you get to the page that says Select a Hotel for Your Vacation Package, scroll to the very bottom of the page and right before the New Search button, there is a sentence ';Only need lodging for part of your stay? Click Here.'; Click there and then put in your dates - must be a minimum of 2 nights and then click submit (I kept clicking the New Search button by mistake)

I%26#39;m still playing around with different scenarios. We have 5 out of 6 nights comped at a Harrah%26#39;s property now. For us, I think it%26#39;s still lower to book the B1 flight/hotel, G1 flight free than it is to book just 2 flights. We did this back in September and used comped rooms part of the trip and then the Allegiant package part of the trip. Gave us a chance to try a new hotel (TI) that we probably wouldn%26#39;t have tried otherwise and still worked out costing less than booking just the flight.

If you are near a major airport, this might not be the lowest airfare. We are approx 2 hours from a Chicago airport and 3 from St. Louis. The airport that Allegiant flies out of is only 45 min. from us and we don%26#39;t have to pay to park nor need a hotel.
