hotels along Boulder highway

Hello all,

Coming to LV for 3-day golf school and need lodging. Golf is at LV National, looking at Hotels along Boulder Highway (Eastside Cannery). Not here for Strip fun, just golf school. Anything to avoid in this area? Looking for affordable room (~40/night) is safe place. I will have car so no worries about getting around.

I%26#39;ve stayed at Sam%26#39;s Town a few times and highly recommend it.

Eastside Cannery is just a few months old and they are offering rooms at $29.95.

I don%26#39;t think I would bother with Arizona Charlies.

Id look at Sunset Station before any of the Boulder Highway spots. Its in a much better neighborhood and there are other things to do aside from the casino. The Galleria Mall is across the street and many restaurants within a few blocks for when you arent in golf school.

So is the area around Eastside not too safe?

Yes, it%26#39;s safe. I%26#39;ve never had a seconds trouble in that area. It%26#39;s kind of like the myth of downtown that you%26#39;re not safe unless you%26#39;re under the magical canopy!

We stayed at Sam%26#39;s Town and the rooms were nice. Basic, but remodeled and clean. Plenty of food choices in and around the hotel. We%26#39;re staying a few nights at Eastside Cannery in May. Rates are $30 night during the week, $60 on weekend. The place is brand new and the rooms look great on the website. We also like their casino and their cafe has very good food at reasonable prices. We never felt unsafe in the area. I would also agree though that the area around Sunset Station is very nice with lots of shopping and restaurants and I wouldn%26#39;t mind staying there on a future trip!
