Bally's room question

Hello

If one were to ask for a ';complimentary'; upgrade at Bally%26#39;s, what would be the best thing to ask for? Some combination of a better room but still with a view? Is this possible? I have read that the north tower has better rooms but the south tower has better views.

Bally's room question

Promark,

I am staying at Bally%26#39;s for the first time, in 16 days. I have had the same questions as you and I will share what I have found out. The main reason that people like the North Tower is the location. When you come down from your room, you are right in the thick of the action. Plus, the rooms are a little more recently renovated and nicer. People like the South Tower because of the views. But it is a trek from the elevators to the action. I%26#39;ve been told to request an odd numbered room if you stay in the South Tower (better view). I am currently booked to stay in the South Tower, but I plan to try the ';$20 trick'; and get the North. If that does not work out, I will request an odd number. I hope this helps. And remember, I have never stayed at Bally%26#39;s before. These answers have come from people who have and seemed knowledeable. Enjoy your trip!

Just ask politely...if you want views, say so. If you would like a renovated north room, say so. We have always gotten what we asked for. It really depends on availability. Have never needed the $20 trick.

The distance from either the north or the south elevators to the door is about the same, but the north tower takes you across the lobby but the south tower you must trek thru the casino (though there is a path).

Enjoy! Ballys is where we stay most often for great rates, great location %26amp; huge rooms.

Thanks guys! Great responses and info. I was wondering how effective the old $20 trick is at getting a really big upgrade, like to spa suite or something like that. I seem to remember having read about that happening on the hotel reviews a few times.

Ballys sent an email to me recently for a code called BEMAIL. For $20 per night you can be upgraded to a North Tower room.

I%26#39;d rather pay a few bucks extra now than try to get an upgrade later and be turned down. It%26#39;s up to you what you do.

To use it, you just have to call them and tell them the code, if you are interested.

Seriously...I would not pay the extra $20/nt...worst case you get a south tower rooms w/ dated furnishings (but clean) and a great strip view. The $20/nt would simply guarantee you a renovated north room, typically w/ mountain views...one you will likely get for the asking unless it is very full.

Greetings pro...

First time i stayed at Bally%26#39;s was in Sept 2007, and we did the %26#39;ol $20 slide, comp upgrade, and it worked without a hitch, and just like i thought it would...just said, %26#39;i would like to inqure about the complimentary room upgrade please%26#39;, as i slid the desk person a $20 bill with my ID...she said, %26#39;no problem sir, let me check on that for you%26#39;...and gave it to us, a junior suite at no extra charge...

So, it does work, but i tried it in Aug 2008 at NY NY, and it didn%26#39;t work no how, and i worked her like a rented mule, but with no success...

Anyways, have fun and give it a try...

Rob...

Thanks again all, I guess at the worst I give the clerk 20 bucks for something they would give me for free anyway, but I am sure this good karma will repay itself at the tables.; )
